interlinear using lexicon from Flex with two gloss

Hi all,

I am trying to interlinear text in Elan using a lexicon from FLex. I have two writing systems set up in Flex, thus the lexicon will show two languages in one gloss. However, when the lexicon is imported into Elan, it will create two glosses for each language/writing system. Thus, when I run the gloss parser in elan, it will ask me to choose gloss for every word.

I wonder if there is any setting in Elan that could let me import only one gloss from Flex lexicon, or exclude/import one gloss into different field in Elan lexicon, so I do not have to choose gloss for every word when interlinearing texts.

Thank you!

Hi,

This is one of the known, not-yet-implemented, issues: to either (be able to) set the language manually (e.g. of the gloss to look for) or to automatically set the language based on the language of the tier(s).
Unfortunately it is not possible to exclude entry fields (e.g. based on the language) when importing from Flex, nor is there a “bulk delete” option (yet) for the lexicon in ELAN.

We hope to be able to work again on the interlinear mode later this year.
