Transcription Mode freezing

Hello. I am using ELAN 6.8 for transcribing audio files and have been using it for a month. After segmenting a new file, using the same Template as always and the same tiers as before, Transcription Mode does not allow me to click onto the boxes to add the text for the transcriptions.
I uninstalled and reinstalled ELAN and restarted my computer, but the problem remains. Adding a screenshot of what Transcription Mode looks like in this error.

Please let me know if it’s possible to fix this error somehow.

Hello,

There is a checkbox on the left side labeled “Create missing annotations”; if you click that one, does that make the cells editable again? If the utt@kid1 tier is a dependent tier, this could be the reason why the cells are not editable without that checkbox ticked.

Thank You so much, it fixed the issue and I can edit the cells again. I’ll keep in mind to check it next time the mode freezes.
