In Transcription mode, I have three columns to transcribe into. The first column has header: Type 1:phrase, second column has header: Type 3: phrase-item, and the third column has header: phrase-item. My third column is my notes column.
I can edit any cell in columns 1 and 2, but I cannot edit any cell at all in column 3.
However, if I go to Annotation mode, add a note into the note tier, and then return to the Transcription mode, the added note is seen, and all of the cells of column 3 are now editable.
Why is this?
Hi Sara,
Are the annotations already present in the third column where you want to edit?
If not then may be in the settings panel, the option âCreate missing annotationsâ is unchecked ?
âCreate missing annotationsâ If checked, you will be able to create new annotations by double-clicking an empty column. If unchecked, you can only alter the existing annotations.

Hi Divya
Thanks for the information, but it doesnât work in my case.
I have created a video of what I am seeing, but I donât see a way to attach it here.
Even with âcreate missing annotationâsâ checked, the cells do not become active until after I click each one once, go to Annotation mode and then return to Transcription mode.
My colleague has the same issue too.
Hi Sara,
You can share the video to my email ( Divya.Kanekal AT mpi.nl ). Along with that can you share what kind of tiers they are where you cannot edit the cells. Are they child tiers or independent tiers?
Best,
Divya
