Tier template disappears completely in annotation mode but shows up in segmentation mode ?!?

Hi all,
I have been an Elan user for sometime, and it typically works very well in the lab where I work.
I am really grateful for this software!
Now, I seem to have hit a snag and am looking for support.

Problem: all tiers vanish from the .eaf file workspace in annotation mode, but are completely visible in segmentation mode (the .eaf is comprised of an etf template and a .wav).
I need to see these tiers in annotation mode in order to populate values for the labeling scheme.
These are the only two modes that are used for this task.

I have run the ‘validate .eaf’ function and the report comes back clean.

I would really appreciate if there are other diagnostics or suggestions beyond what I’ve described to fix this problem! (or please redirect me to a previous thread that covers this elsewhere in the forum). Thx!

Hi,

If you are in Annotation Mode and right click the area where the tier names normally are, you should see an item “Tier Set” in the context menu. Could it be the sub-menu item “Work with tier sets” is selected? If so, do the tiers show up again after deselecting that menu item?
This would be my first guess, that this menu has accidentally been checked.
