Support for XML Inclusions

Hi,

Does Elan (plan to) support XML Inclusions? I don’t see it in the specification.

Since MEDIA_URL is a required attribute of MEDIA_DESCRIPTOR, we struggle in a git-based project to not create lots of extra diffs, just because collaborators don’t use exactly the same absolute file paths. it would be great if we could xinclude media descriptor elements and then git ignore collaborators’ individualized media descriptor files.

You are correct, xinclude of media descriptors is not supported. There are (were) also no plans to add that, but I can see the point. At first glance it’ll require quite a bit of changes to the file loading and saving procedure.
