Dear all,
We have a DSGS sign language annotation scheme with video clips. But when I created controlled vocabulary, those clips could not be inserted. Is it possible to build our own lexicon service, and how? Or will Elan add this function to let the video clips be inserted? Thanks very much!

Dear Longqian,
In ELAN currently there is only one type of lexicon service supported, namely SignBank for sign language lexicons. It connects to the Global Signbank ( this has been designed to harbour datasets for many sign languages (‘datasets’)). Other services like you mention DSGS sign language lexicon could be added as new extension to connect between ELAN and DSGS.
It would require to implement the api’s to set up the lexicon service, initialize the download of the dataset ( consisting of video clips/images and gloss files) and along with this service to be able to see the video clips when hovering over the CV’s , the lexicon should have a connection to an ECV (External CV).
Thank you so much! Super helpful!
