Segmentation mode error when using one keystroke per annotation option

I am having a problem in segmentation mode. When I change the settings to select “one keystroke per annotation, press to mark start, release to mark end” with a delay of 300 milliseconds, instead of a single keystroke creating a single annotation, instead a single keystroke creates many annotations (it looks like a single annotation bisected by many vertical lines). Has anyone else experienced this problem? I have experienced this problem on a MacBook Pro Apple M3 using ELAN 6.9-M1, on a MacBook Pro Apple M4 Max using ELAN 7.0-M1, and my research assistants have experienced it on their Windows machines with ELAN 7.0 as well. We have discovered that we can sometimes fix it by restarting the program or unselecting and reselecting “one keystroke per annotation”, but it slows us down to have to fix this repeatedly.

This is what it looks like.

Hi Sarah,

Kindly let me have a look and get back to you on this.

Hi Sarah,

This is clearly a bug. I could reproduce the scenario. Thank you for reporting this.
On first file load, the selected action “One keystroke per annotation (press to mark start, release to mark end)” isn’t applied. A different action triggers instead.
When you deselect and reselect it again the proper action is triggered.

We’ll try to repair this for the next release.
Until then i am afraid the only way would be to deselect and then reselect the option; the correct behaviour resumes.
