I am encountering some issues in using the lexicon to annotate my ELAN data. Specifically, I cannot import the lexicon from one file to another; the same problem occurs when I send the lexicon to another computer.

What is the file format that you are trying to import in ELAN? Toolbox (.dic, .db, .txt ) or LIFT format (.lift ) ?
If you are trying to merge the two lexicons, that is not yet possible in ELAN .
but it might be possible to merge two lexicons by copying, eg in xml editor , copying the XML of the entries of one lexicon and pasting them in the XML file of the other lexicon.
But make sure that the two files are in the same format.
ie, if you choose “Export Lexicon” from the Lexicon menu, it produces LIFT XML format. If you export both the files this way then you can copy the entries from one file to other. Then you can open the result file in ELAN.
