Problem with mpg in ELAN 6.5

I have an interesting small problem. I have loads of mpg-files that are working fine in ELAN 6.3.
When I put them into ELAN 6.5 I only get the sound and no video.
Has someone faced the same problem and even solved it?

Hi, good that you consider it a small problem. Can you add some more information about your setup? Is this on Windows (as I assume) or on an other operating system? Trying with some more mpeg-1 files now (on Windows), I do see that sometimes the video is not there (blue or grey rectangle). Both in 6.3 and in 6.5, so this is maybe not exactly your situation.

Hi Han,
It’s a small problem because all of my mpg1-files play on 6.3 and none of them on 6.5. So at this point I’m simply reverting back to 6.3. I’d really like to solve it though.
And yes - it’s on Microsoft Surface pro 8 with Windows 11 home.
I do have exactly the same problem on my Lenovo Thinkpad which runs on Windows 10 pro which makes me think it might be a bug in ELAN 6.5.

Test with 6.0. Mpg 1 worked on that without problem.

Thanks you for the additional information. Since the problem is so consistent in 6.5, there might be relevant error messages in the log (View->View Log...) after opening an mpeg-1 in 6.5. Maybe you can send the contents to me by email (han.sloetjes AT mpi.nl)?
