I am having problems when trying to play MPG videos in my laptop using ELAN 6.2. I am working with two synchronised videos and I can only see the image of one (the other one remains in blue all the time). I have tried to create new ELAN files, but the same issue popped up again and again. The last thing I have done is to install the same ELAN version in someone’s else laptop. I am not experiencing this problem and everything seems to work. Any clue about what the problem with my laptop can be? Thanks!
I assume these are Windows laptops?
We have several reports about the blue box instead of the video, mostly concerning mp4 files. So far we haven’t found an explanation for this problem. If, like in your case, one video file works, but another one doesn’t, one might think there must be some difference in encoding of the video files. But if the same files both work on another laptop, one might think the problem must be in the hardware or system software or settings of the first laptop.
We haven’t found the answer to this yet, so suggestions are welcome.
One question: on the failing laptop, does it matter in which order the two video files are linked? Is it always the same video that doesn’t work, or is it always e.g. the second video, regardless which video was linked first or second?
