Overlap different tiers in ELAN

Hi,

I am working on a set of gesture/facial coding and I’m interested in the amount of times certain tiers overlap.
I know there is a built-in ELAN tool to check overlap between tiers but as I am interested in every single occurence of overlap, using this tool would take a very long time (I calculated that there are 120 different combinations of tiers I would have to run the tool on).
Does anyone know whether there is a faster way to do this or does anyone know of a script that could run the tool for me?

Hi Leah,

I didn’t try it myself, but it could be that the Pympi library, which is mentioned on our Third Party Resources page, can be used for this. Otherwise there might be other tools/scripts of interest mentioned there?
