I have a Quick Time Film and have imported it into Elan.
The picture of the film top left looks elongated. Any tips to sort this?
You could right click the video and in the context menu go to Force Aspect Ratio and try the option you think is the right one.
This assuming that resizing the media/video area of the window doesn’t already correct the aspect ratio (sometimes the video might become visible before all properties have been read and the video might need a resize to adjust to the right proportions).
Media players sometimes have different interpretations of encoded properties of a video file so that a video can look slightly different in different players (not sure if that plays a role here).

I converted my QuickTime movies into MP4. And that has done the trick!
