I am reworking an old .eaf file and I cannot create a new annotation. I can actually change the content of the pre-existing annotation and delete the annotation nothing else. The .eaf files were created with an previous ELAN version (4.9?) and the new annotation issue happens only with the most recent ELAN version(s). Any thoughts? Best-Cristian
That is difficult to say, without further information. To my knowledge nothing changed in terms of constraints on tiers, determined by their type and position in a tier hierarchy.
Can you make the selection for the annotations you want to create? Because sometimes the (combination of) the active tier and/or active annotation can prevent that you can drag a selection anywhere you want. If that is the case, make a top level tier active and maybe click anywhere to make sure there’s no active annotation.
