I am trying to get my video played in Elan, but it says that the files is not supported by Java, but I have the newest version (8), and I have tried to download/uninstall and then download again, but it still does not work.
I really hope someone is able to help me, because I need it to work for my exam.
Whether or not a video file can be played in ELAN mainly depends on the operating system and the main media platform on that system.
Maybe you can add some more information about the operating system you are working on and the video file format or video encoding?
Also, if ELAN cannot create a player for a file, there might be relevant information (after opening the video) in the log (View->View Log…). There might be messages like “JDSPlayer cannot handle file …” etc. with some detail about the cause. If there are such messages, you can post them here (no need to copy the entire log output).
