Hello! My organisation has begun storing all new sound files in Sharepoint. I’m trying to start a new transcription of one of them, but I can’t seem to link to media files that are in Sharepoint. (‘Look in’ doesn’t list Sharepoint as an option, and when I add a Sharepoint link by clicking on ‘Add remote file,’ ELAN just opens up a nonfunctional file with no media, as far as I can tell.) Thanks!!

Sorry for the delayed response, there was a maintenance of the site.
ELAN when connecting to url’s which are stored in content management systems, does not resolve to their absolute paths.Hence you see there is no media file being loaded. It requires the absolute path to load the file. We have tried this before with other similar management tools like Sharepoint.
Add remote file as well works with files which are remote but with absolute paths.
To make sure it is the same case as described above, you’re welcome to send me the elan logs for us to confirm the same and to analyse the scenario you are describing. You can share the logs to (divya.kanekal AT mpi.nl) . you can find it at view → View log.
