Hello,
I have downloaded ELAN software on my laptop. After i import the CSV tab Delimited text file and then i use the edit option to link the WAV audio file .
The audio and text are not in sync .
for Example:
If i select the 1st text line the audio from the 4 line starts playing and it just continues playing even if the Pause button is highlighted .
I have tried uninstalling the ELAN and installing it back again , But i am facing the same issue . None of my team members have this issue .
Need help !!!
Hello,
I’m afraid it is difficult to provide help based on this information and without the files at hand. Are text/csv and the audio supposed to be in sync, without correction after import?
It seems the problem you describe is in transcription mode, is that correct? Does switching to Annotation mode make any difference? I’m not sure if I fully understand what is going wrong with the playback; normally if the player is playing the Pause button is visible (or highlighted), so it’s not clear to me whether this is the same misalignment problem, or a different problem.
So, I’m afraid some more information would be welcome.

Hello,
Yes the text CSV and the audio are supposed to be in sync , and i am supposed to make changes to the text wherever it is required .
Yes the problem is in transcription mode .
Switching to annotation mode does not make any difference . The audio just keeps on playing in continuity and never stops .
When the text in the 1st line is selected in Transcription mode, the audio from the 4th line of the transcription starts playing and continues to play till the end of the entire audio file .
It should start and stop for that particular line of transcription.
Now do you understand
Hello,
Thank you for the clarifications, the situation is clearer now. That doesn’t mean it is easy to know what is going wrong and why things work differently on your laptop compared to your colleagues’.
It might help to see the contents of the log after opening a file and clicking a cell and the player not stopping at the end. The log can be found via View->View Log… Maybe it can be sent to me for inspection (han.sloetjes AT mpi.nl)?
