Issue with Automatic Glossing in ELAN Interlinearization Mode

Hi,

I’m using ELAN 6.9 to annotate bilingual speech data in Interlinearization Mode. I follow a hierarchical structure: speech transcription > token > morpheme > gloss > language. I’ve configured the source–target relationships accordingly and created a lexicon, associating it with the relevant types (morpheme, gloss, and language).

While the annotator correctly identifies morphemes, it doesn’t automatically generate glosses. Everything seems to be configured properly, but the glossing step isn’t working, and I’m currently stuck.

Could you please advise on what might be going wrong or suggest any troubleshooting steps?

Thank you in advance!
All the best,
Marco

Hi Marco,

Can you let me know which lexicon fields are connected to the Target1 and Target2 ?

If you can share the screenshots of the tier type configuration and Analyzer & source-target configs, it will help me replicate the same structure for reproduction. You do not have to share the screenshots here. You can email them to me ( Divya.Kanekal AT [mpi.nl]).

Best,
Divya
