Is Layered Video Display (Toggle/Overlay) Supported in ELAN?

Hello,

I’m working with ELAN as part of a video processing pipeline that includes both original and preprocessed (e.g., keypoint-tracked) videos. I was wondering if there’s any existing support for layering videos on top of each other in the same viewer.

Specifically:

  • Is there any current or past feature that allows overlaying videos in a single window, rather than showing them side by side?
  • Is it possible to toggle the visibility of each video layer (e.g., to switch between raw and processed views)?
  • Are there any known plans involving these features?

Hello Csenge,

Currently we do not have the overlaying media in a single window feature. In the past the flow was analysed to see if it can be applied. At the moment there are no immediate plans to add these features. This would require an actual project (with funding) for its implementation.
