We work on various machines, and would like to share our favourites (actors, mostly). How to copy them from one to the other? Just copying the files in .arbil/favourites/ doesn’t make them show up on another computer.
There are plans to write an export/import function for favorites as well as an option for favorites to be shared on a web server. However this has been held back due to urgent work on Clarin functionality. I will bump up the priority for this request.
There does not seem to have been any development on this, unless I’m wrong. We also need to work on various machines and are seriously held back by the lack of an export/import facility for favourites. Is there any solution in sight?
I have bumped the priority for this again and it is now assigned for version 2.5.
Arbil version 2.4 (currently being tested and should be released shortly) now has a plugin system, so it is possible that we can provide this as a plugin slightly earlier than version 2.5 is released.
Thank you for the prompt reply, Peter! Could you perhaps give us an idea of the time line for the release of a favourite export plugin for A4bil 2.4 so that we can plan our workflow?

It is difficult to predict with all the competing priorities, however we hope to have this working in about two months. Initially we will work on it for Arbil 2.5 and then create a plugin for 2.4 which by then will be the stable version of Arbil.
The favourites export / import plugin is now ready to be tested.
Once it has gone through the testing process we will put it onto the website and write some instructions on how to install the plugin.
Let us know if you want to try this sooner and we can make a pre-release available to you.

The favourites import/export plugin is now available!
It can be downloaded as a JAR file and installed according to the instructions in Arbil’s help system (Technical Details -> Plugins).
An alternative webstart link is also available that will launch Arbil with the plugin already included so that no further configuration is required.
Notice that the plugin cannot be used in combination with the standard webstart version.
The import/export functionality for favourites will be available through the option in the Plugins menu in the menu bar. This will trigger a dialogue with instructions on how to create an export and/or import previously exported favourites.
