I recently did a 20 minute transcription of a speaker, and within the transcription there is a 14 minute story. I understand that I cannot edit audio in ELAN, but is it possible to export transcriptions existing only in those 14 minutes, or do I need to create an entirely new transcription file of only those 14 minutes and re-segment and copy paste transcriptions in the new file?
Is it possible to make a new ELAN file of only those 14 minutes?

Hello,
You can use the ‘Restrict to selected time interval’ option in Export → Export As → Tab-delimted Text… Then it is possible to restrict the export process to selected annotations.
You can select the desired time interval ( in your case 14 mins ) by making a selection. Then you go to Export → Export As → Tab-delimted Text… and select the tiers etc and enable ‘Restrict to selected time interval’ then the export will contain only the annotations in this time interval.
When you have the export file, you can re-import it again via Import → CSV/ Tab-delimted Text File…and save it as a new .eaf file and add the media files to it.

There is one more better and easier way to have those 14 minutes segmentations to a new file.
With File → Save selection as .eaf file feature.
You can save the contents of a certain time span to an .eaf file.
