When we try to export our coding from ELAN to a CHAT file, we see that in some of the lines the code appears twice.
Do you know how to avoid that?

That is difficult to say. When you mention ‘the code’, do you mean the tier name/label or the annotation content? Since this apparently only happens on some lines, do you see any pattern in when or where the duplication occurs?
In case you have the CLAN tools installed, you could try the elan2chat command to convert/export to CHAT. Otherwise it would be good to have some more information about the structure of the tiers and annotations and how exactly the resulting error looks like. For that it would be best if you could send a small example (the eaf file + exported chat file, send to han.sloetjes AT mpi.nl).
