Hello everyone,
I don’t understand why but I cannot export in (tiger-)XML anymore. When I select the option, the window asks to select the tiers I want to export but no tiers are displayed in the box (it remains empty) and if I click on “Ok”, system display “there are no tiers selected”.
Any cues?
Thanks!
Jerome
Although this function hasn’t been worked on for a long time, I believe it still works.
The export window shows all independent tiers (top level tiers) that have at least one dependent tier of type Time Subdivision. The window doesn’t show a warning message if no suitable tiers are found, but just shows an empty table (which is not very informative).
In your case, do you think (or know) that there are tiers in your document compliant with these requirements?

Hello Han and thank you for the reply.
So it seems that the problem comes from the fact that my top level tiers do not have dependent tiers. Why is it necessary and is there a way to export data in XML without such condition? Someone would like an XML export of my data to test processing them in another software and I thought I would be easier
Thanks,
Jerome
The Tiger format is for representing syntax trees or syntax graphs, so a certain hierarchy is required to be able to export to such a format in a meaningful way.
But ELAN’s own format, EAF (.eaf) is XML too, so why not give the .eaf files to the person who wants to process your data in other software?
Oh OK, it’s perfect then! Thank you
