Elan6.8 cant play video

when I use this app to analyse videos, I found that the sound and picture are not sync, even sometimes the video doesn’t work. It became blue. Also I can’t speed up, I am gonna be crazy now cause I need this application to finish my degree thesis!! just look at the picture and tell me what should I do to solve this problem!

the size of these videos below 5G, just like 4.84G

Hello,

Are you on windows machine and what is the video player being set ?
Are you using the Video file alone or .wav file is used for audio ?
What is the video type ?

You can try to load your file in ELAN 6.7 to see if you face the issue there as well ?

It would also be useful to check if same problem occurs in 6.8 with our ACLEW examples from our resources page .

I am working on a windows machine, and the video player is Hevc? I am not sure.

And I’m using the video alone, I didn’t change it to wav. file. The Vedic type is mp4.

I have tried load my file on ELAN 6.6/6.0, but the same issues happened, and I also changed my computer (still window), it doesn’t work ~

Anyway, I will try to load my file on ELAN 6.7 to see if it works.

You can check the set media framework/player in ELAN
Edit -----> preferences → edit preferences → Platform OS and there under Media Framework you can see the selected framework.

You can try the below options:

  1. Try selecting a different media framework and open your file. If issue is still present then go back to the previous media framework and try the next option ( option 2 ).
  2. Then problem might be due to video encoding issue. You can try re-encoding the file as suggested here media encoding guide

It’s no use changing the settings as you said. When I pause the annotation, click again and the video gets stuck. Is it because my video is too big? For each pause, the video needs to pause for a while to continue playing.
