Have you tested ELAN on computers running MacOS Catalina? I’m waiting to update my computer until I know ELAN functions fine. I searched as well as browsed recent topics and didn’t see anyone post about whether ELAN works okay on computers using MacOS Catalina. Apologies if I missed it.

Yes, the latest version has been generated and tested on a Mac running Catalina. A new requirement for Catalina is that an application is “notarized” by Apple, which has been done for 5.8.
It seems that all (most?) functions work the same under Catalina as on earlier versions. There is some unclarity in cases of ELAN invoking an external application (Open selection in Praat, Clipping media using AppleScript and QuickTime): some users are prompted (once) to grant permission to ELAN to do so, a few users reported that they weren’t prompted but just got a message that it was not allowed to perform that action. This still has to be sorted out.
