Hello,
Yes, .mov files may or may not work on WIndows and it is probably best to simply assume such files don’t work (reliably) in ELAN on Windows.
.mov is a proprietary format and such files can best be converted to .mp4 if the goal is to (also) use them on operating systems other than macOS.
Our media encoding guide might be useful for the conversion.

Thanks for you answer. I can read the video with MP4 but i can’t transfer the video and the transcription did with Clan in ELAN. I can’t open them both. But i can do this with another video with the format .mov with the same manipulation than with this vidéo. Thanks you for your answer.
I’m not sure if I fully understand what works and what doesn’t. You can now work with the .mp4 in ELAN correctly?
And then you convert the ELAN file(s) to .cha format (using the CLAN tools?). It sounds like the .mp4 can not be played in CLAN? But what about the transcription, can that be opened as such?
In principle the CLAN media player supports the.mp4 format, that shouldn’t really be a problem, I guess.
No problem, I understand.
So, it is (indeed) strictly a problem of video support in ELAN, independent of the transcription and where the transcription comes from. This can be confirmed by doing File->New... and selecting the problematic video; this should end with a message similar to the screenshot you posted. But then for one or more .mp4 files (instead of .mov).
In principle .mp4 is supported by most media frameworks that ELAN offers on Windows. After the error message as in your image, there will likely be some more information in the log, accessible via View->View Log.... Maybe you can send the contents to me by email (han.sloetjes AT mpi.nl)?
