Hi, I am pretty shattered cause I spent the whole weekend doing these annotations and kept saving them but looks like elan didn’t overwrite the older file… I’m not sure what happened. I quit elan and restarted it today and all the annotations for the last 2 files I had worked on this weekend have disappeared although I kept hitting the save button!
I have a mac book pro and use ELAN 5.7. Is there any way of retrieving these annotations? Thanks!
I think I might have had the same elan file open twice. I was closing all the elan tabs cluttering my tool bar today and I might have overwritten/saved the older version over the newer version I had prepared. This may be the reason why I lost the new annotations. Is there any way of retrieving this lost version with the latest annotations? This is worth an enormous lot of hours of work. Many thanks in advance for your help!
I realise that I could open the same file twice. This allowed by mistake to have the oldest version override the newer one…
This should be disabled please. Other people have had the same problem as me using elan as itt allows opening the same file twice. This is dangerous.
Yes, this issue is on our to-do list.
Unless you had Automatic Backup activated, there is no way to retrieve the overwritten changes, unfortunately.
