I am about to purchase new computers for a lab and wondering if anyone has feedback on how Elan runs on the new Apple Macs with Apple M1 silicon instead of Intel chips?
Yes, it would be good to have some feedback of M1 owners.
I’ve tested ELAN on an M1 and it seems to work well, but this is still the developer’s type of testing. Users who have been working with ELAN on M1 for many hours would be a better source of information.
We have received a few reports concerning problems with the latest version of ELAN on macOS, but for different versions of the macOS and different machine types (so far no relation with chip type or OS version could be identified).
I think if I had to purchase Macs now, I would choose the most recent one; the Intel based Macs might become outdated much sooner than their usual lifetime.
