Elan 6.4 on Linux (Video playback and sync problem)

Have been testing Elan 6.4 the last few days and came across the following problem (I am on Linux Mint 20). As soon as I added more than one video, often the second video would be static (i.e. would not play, even if selected). Also any offset added in an attempt to sync the videos did not work.

Eventually, I found that if I switched the “Media Framework” in Preferences from “VLC Player Library” to JavaFX Media Framework, everything started to work just fine. Just wanted to report.

Thanks for the nice software

Thanks for reporting this, we’ll try to reproduce the problem and fix it, if possible.
I’m not sure if it can be fixed; if the problem only exists on Linux, it might be a limitation of the ‘native’ VLC libraries. We’ll have to see.

Hi @tkeil ,

Thank you very much for your post on this issue. I am having a very similar problem (but in the media sync mode), and I tried to apply your solution but couldn’t find a way to switch the media framework. Could you please explain how you did this switch in the VLC Player Library.

Thank you very much again!!
