I’ve been having trouble getting videos to play in ELAN files (running windows). I recorded .mov files on a Zoom Q8, which I set to produce a .mov file and an associated separate .wav file. I’ve updated my software to version 5-7 FX and converted my files to .mp4 file types, since this forum indicated that both of those things might fix this problem. I get a blue box in the video player now, but no sound or video from the .mp4. The .wav file plays fine. I tried putting it in media synchronization mode to cue ELAN to work with the video, but that didn’t work either. I also tried making the .mp4 file into the “master” file via the linked media controls, but that a) didn’t work and b) reduced the functionality of the software with the .wav file. I also tried deleting and re-adding the .mp4 file to my ELAN file, making an entirely new file, and opening my current file on a different PC (with a different template as well).
Were the settings you used to convert the .mov to .mp4 in line with the recommendations in this media encoding guide? If not, or if you are not sure, can you convert again based on those guidelines?
I assume that, in the situation with the blue box, resizing the area with the video doesn’t help to make it visible (sometimes the user interface just needs another forced update)?

Re-converting based on these guidelines worked! Thanks so much; I never would have figured this out on my own
