Converting .ecv to word list

First, I’m very pleased with the experience importing external controlled vocabularies in the current release. I’ve made great use of it, and it has made things sooo smooth in my transcription process. Thank you!

That being said, I now find that I would like to export my final controlled vocabulary list, but as a word list or something similar for importing into a MSExcel spreadsheet.

Since in the current release the only option is to export a CV as a .ecv file, do you know if there’s any way to convert this file type into a csv or txt file?
Or, is there a work-around in ELAN that I could try?

Indeed, there is currently no export option to csv or plain text file. It would be a simple function to implement, but it is not there now.

As a workaround you could try to use the View->Annotation Statistics function. In either one of the “Annotation” tabs select a tier that is associated with a CV. The table will list all entries in the CV and the table can be exported to tab-delimited text.
For a clean export you could create a new file, with one tier for each CV and without annotations; then, one-by-one, select the tiers and export the table.
