Controlled vocabulary in segmentation mode

Hello! We are trying to use a tier with a controlled vocabulary with shortcut keys in Segmentation Mode. We would like to use the shortcut keys as in “one keystroke per annotation, press to mark start, release to mark end”. When this setting is enabled and we use a shortcut key (hold it down), it behaves as if “two keystrokes per annotation” was selected (but pressing Enter behaves as expected). Has anyone encountered this? Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Hello,

Thanks for reporting this, this is clearly a bug.
We’ll try to repair this for the next release (until then I don’t really see a ‘workaround’, other then not using this option).

Hi,

I have a similar problem. I have defined a CV with two codes (r, l), but in segmentation mode, I can only use enter (which works as expected). I am trying to use the 4th segmentation option, pressing the key for as long as it should be assigned. My Elan version is 6.9. Is there any solution?
Thank you and best
Steffi

(Sorry, it runs in German on my machine, so I am not exactly sure how options are named in English.)

Hi Stefanie,

When I look at the release notes I can see that the issue was fixed right after it was reported. When I add the tier with CV and use the shortcut keys during segmentation it works as expected, I tried it on my Mac and windows machines.

Maybe it’s the other settings that are leading to that issue ? It would help me if I can reproduce the issue. If possible, can you share the file to my email ( Divya.Kanekal AT mpi.nl ) and I will examine it further ?

Best,
Divya
