Can't create new controlled vocabulary

Using ELAN 5.8 on Windows, I can’t seem to create a new controlled vocabulary. I go to Edit controlled vocabulary, give it a name and description, then choose Add, and nothing happens. I also can’t click on the boxes to create entries even though they’re not greyed out. It’s possible that I’m missing something really basic here, but I’m not sure what it is after looking through the documentation.

Hi, so far I haven’t been able to reproduce the problem. Can you, after performing the steps you described, have a look in the log (View->View Log…)and see if there are obvious error or exception messages at the bottom of the list? No need to copy/paste the entire contents of the log (you may send that to me in case of doubt, han.sloetjes AT mpi.nl).

-Han

There’s this line:

Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index 0 out of bounds for length 0

Followed by a whole bunch of indented “at java blah blah” and “at mpi blah blah” lines.

Ok, those “blah blah” lines might actually be relevant and informative. So if you could send the contents of the log to the email address mentioned before, I would be grateful.

I sent you an email. Thank you for looking into this.
