Arbil not working after installation of Nokia Ovi Suite 2

I had installed Arbil on my laptop, running unter Windows 7 Professional. It was running without problems, but after I installed Nokia Ovi Suite 2, opening Arbil via the desktop shortcut or via the start menu would open Nokia Ovi Suite instead. Uninstalling Nokia Ovi Suite and Arbil and reinstalling Arbil didn’t resolve the matter, and unfortunately I can’t go back to a restore point prior to the first installation of Nokia Ovi Suite, because it would undo too many changes on my computer. At the moment, I can only work with the web-based version of Arbil, but I often work without internet access and really need a local version installed as well. Thanks for your help!

There are a number of things that might resolve this issue. I would try him in this order:
       1) reinstall the java runtime (available here: http://www.java.com/en/download/).
If that fails to resolve the issue then try:
       2) Edit the desktop shortcut (right click properties) and edit the target entry. It should have something like this [“C:Program FilesArbilarbil-2-2-21036.jar”] and you should be able to enter java in front of it so that it looks like [java “C:Program FilesArbilarbil-2-2-21036.jar”] (windows will probably change java to a full path and this is ok) then apply and close the dialogue. Note that the exact file names will vary from the example here.
If both of these fail then try creating a creating a new desktop shortcut by hand.
