Hello
I am attempting to add an annotation in the ‘comments’ tier of our corpus. I want this comment to be time-aligned with an existing ID gloss annotation.
My normal workflow is to click to select the ID gloss, then double-click in the ‘comments’ tier to add my new annotation. This used to work but now, the problem is that the time alignment of the new comment is wrong (sometimes both at the start and the end, sometimes just at the end).
The ‘comments’ tier is not a child of the ID gloss tier. If I repeat the steps with a child tier, the new annotation is correctly aligned.
I have made a quicktime video of the problem which I can send if it would help to explain.
This happens for me on several EAF files. I am using ELAN 5.3 on a Mac. My colleagues, who are doing the same, do not have the same problem, even using the same EAF files.
I wonder if I have accidentally set some preference wrongly? I did take a look through but nothing stood out.
I’d be grateful for any assistance.
Heidi
