Experimental data

This bundle includes color tasks, involving a subset of the Munsell chips from the World Colour Survey. The task was conducted with 12 Bulu (Bantu A70) participants from Nko'olong village, using the MPI color booklet and color blindness plates. (Majid, A., & Levinson, S. C. (2007). The language of vision I: colour. In A. Majid (Ed.), Field Manual Volume 10 (pp. 22-25). Nijmegen: Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics. )
The 12 participants were audio recorded. The answers they gave for each of the 80 color chips are provided in the accompanying fieldnotes. The photos in the bundle show an interruption to the recordings when a pangolin that had been caught was set on the table to walk around the recorder. The other photos capture what happened after the recordings of the day on the way back to Kribi when the motorbike broke down and Djiedjhie and Nadine spent hours at a Bulu compound to get it fixed.
