Kwasio contact region
Bibira is a Gyeli camp in the Mabi region, a dialect of Kwasio. It is located on the road from Kribi to Campo, about 33km from Kribi, at the coast. Bibira is not in close vicinity to any farming village, but nontheless, there is extensive contact with Mabi speaking farmers. The Bagyeli in Bibira are used to contact with white people. They even got visited by a Bulgarian filmmaker whom they like a lot and whose material can be seen, for instance, in Ridley Scott's "Life in a day". Bibira is also one of the villages that is going to be resettled further into the inland, along with several farming villages, due to the ongoing construction of the biggest port of central Africa.
