CELD Papua - How to use this corpus CELD Papua - How to use this corpus

Access to the metadata is open. The large majority of data can be accessed as soon as you have registered. A few resources can only be accessed after asking the project manager for permission. This only pertains to session that contain sensitive materials, i.e. where the speaker potentially needs to be protected. This does NOT mean, that these resources are generally not available for public users. If you wish access to one of these resources, you will have to sign the usage declaration and fill in the usage request. All materials in this corpus can be used for scientific and educational purpose only and all users have to conform to the DoBeS Code of Conduct.

There are different ways to search for data in this corpus. You can click on one of the nodes in the tree structure on left hand side, and its structure will unfold. There are corpus nodes and sub-corpus nodes (organised by languages and genres respectively) and session nodes. Each session contains at least a recording (usually audio and video), and often also transcriptions with Indonesian and English translations. A subset of sessions will also contain interlinearised texts. Another way to search this corpus is by using IMDI metadata search (IMDI-intro), or to search for expressions in the using the annotation content search (ANNEX).

Note that - except for the two sub-corpora Eipo Heeschen Collection and Yali Zoellner Collection - this corpus is still work in progress. This particularly holds for the transcriptions and annotations, which are currently still corrected and up-dated, or added where not yet available. Therefore, when working with this corpus, it might be worth checking once in a while whether new material has been added or old material has changed.

Related Documentations

The DoBeS Wooi project is also a part of CELD - in fact it was the first documentation project affiliated at CELD. It is only due to technical reasons that the Wooi corpus is not located under the CELD node but has its own node in the DoBeS archive (cf. Wooi).
