As a native speaker of Basaa, he was in charge of researching in the Basaa region. Apart from collecting multimedia material for archiving, he has written a sketch grammar of the Bakola variety spoken in the Basaa region. He has also collected a wordlist of more than 2000 entries, and he has edited a story book of Bakola. Emmanuel currently teaches at the Higher Teacher's Training College of Yaoundé, in the Department of Cameroonian Languages and Cultures.
