The first photo dates from July 1, 1938. The series covers various aspects of the Trumai culture: house building; food preparation; daily activities; festivities. Quain wrote captions for each photo. The researcher Raquel Guirardello-Damian translated them into Portuguese. In the translation, the names of Trumai individuals who appear in the photos are represented using the current Trumai orthography. ----- PORTUGUÊS: Série de fotos feitas pelo antropólogo americano Buell Quain em 1938, que doou os originais ao Museu Nacional (Rio de Janeiro). A primeira foto data de 1 de Julho de 1938. As fotos cobrem vários aspectos da cultura Trumai: construção de casas; preparo de alimentos; atividades cotidianas; festividades. Quain escreveu comentários para cada foto, sendo que a pesquisadora Raquel Guirardello-Damian traduziu-os para o Português. Na tradução, os nomes de pessoas Trumai que aparecem nas fotos são representados usando a atual ortografia da língua.
