Papiamentu
Twenty-five Antillean or Aruban caretakers (mothers, aunts or grandmothers) in the Netherlands read books to their child. The children were in the first or second grade of the Dutch primary school. Their average age was 5.3 years (sd -= 9 months). Three books were read: Vijf neer (no text), Slaap lekker meneer beer (Dutch text) and Klop klop (Papiamento text).
