s1: Aug. 4, ~4pm: 35 min. of local kids playing: Steven/Kakan, Kââti, K:aamgaa, and Dinimgaa. First the first 3 shared food (v. nicely, Kââti’s bread roll), then they ran around and chased eo, and Ndunupwe (Cheme Anna’s dumb Da) who acted silly (dancing, chasing) with them. They scavenged in our garbage dump under the banana tree, gathered teabags to play with, and found a ball. When their ball fell in the stream, they stripped off and jumped in! All equally, splashing and calling out, loving it, including little Kââti. Anna and Dorothy were both by the side of the river, but they went in without consultation and without looking to see if anyone was watching them. Dinimgaa jumped off the log – he can already swim – the others just bounced and splashed in shallow water. Also filmed about 10 min. of 5 ½ month old Pweengomo with Cheme Anna and then with Yaawa.
