4 Aug. - 2nd session ii. to about 43:50: film of Nji scraping coconut in the early evening, other children around. Ruined by Ann2 talking to me and upteen children gathering around to see the video process. But some good child talk, and talk to children, and Kak telling Nji how to do it. iii. 6/8/03: to 47:53: About 4 min. of children gathered at stream and crossing log back and forth on log, excited about catching a large water eel.

This is an MPI Field Manual 2003 task - Child cut and break, a set of 34 video stimuli designed to elicit children's descriptions of cutting and breaking events. side A -10-1515- child cut&break with Yââwe. Then same stimulus with Yidika as adult control, and onto side B as well.

Grass skirts, G-strings. 00:38: L chooses one to lead the singing, she comes forward. 29 July, about 40 min. filming children near the old kitchen: Yââ, Too, Jim, Ana, Luc and baby, and Kap and Nji, also Gha some of the time and Pat, and some others who came by. Part ruined by their consciousness of the camera, esp. Kap and Ana couldn't leave it alone and kept getting in the way. The others sang songs, lots.
31 July, Two hours of taping at Keemikm:ee, Ann2's village above Cheme. Got there at 8:40, starting filming around 9:15. Men there building new house, women making grass skirts. Children in the film: Ann2's youngest Da Jud (Moopwe, age 1;9, b. Oct. 25, 2001), Blon, or Dinda, 1;8, b. Nov. 30 2001), and baby Eliz (10 months old, b. Sept. 28 2002). Also two older boys: Kêpê (7 or 8, in E1), and Pwee (about 6, not yet entered school: he's the BrSon of the 2 men working on house). Ann2 also there, and her Da, and the mother of Blondie Dja (she's from Djadu), and the mother of Eliz (Bar, from P:um). Also the old parents, and Jos from down the hill. And a sister Jan, husband away in Hagita. Men working on house include Ben (he's the lst-born brother of Blon I think)
