In this session the consultant explains all name of places at Nuku Hiva by filming these places. Occasionally he tells anecdotes or stories, or sings a ruu (indigenous chant) which are connected with certain places. The filming of the locations focuses around the way to Taipivai, Taipivai and Ho'oumi.

In this session we see how a medicine for infants is prepared out of plants and crabs. The end product is a cooked coconut oil with plant ingredients which is used for purification purposes, in particular when the infant suffers from diarrhoea and stomach trouble.

In this session the consultant gives some additional information about the legend of 'Ono (see link). The conversation leads to a general discussion about several Marquesan dances (ori pahaka, ori manu) and about feasts and dances in general, and about signs in nature (tapa'o) and their interpretation.

Expl_kuea-Mi
In this session the consultant explains the word "kuea meita'i" which is a South Marquesan expression (not existing as such in North Marquesan). It refers to a cutting technique (-> squarely cut) of red tufa apparently originating from the South Marquesas. However, a number of squarly cut stones on historical sites can be seen in the North Marquesas. The word "kuea" is used in the legend of Teiki Nono (see link).

In this session the consultant shows and explains a location in the legend of Keikahanui. The filmed location is the location where Keikahanui followed his father-in-law, Tohi'akau, when he jumped onto the other side of the river followed by Keikahanui. This is before the actual fight between the two in which Tohi'akau gets defeated.
paku_koiie-TB
In this session the making of a medicine with very young coconuts is shown which is used against dundruff and skin irritations. The consultant explains all the different steps and how it has to be used.
Putio-UP
In this session the consultant briefly narrates about Puti'o who was a big Marquesan warrior from Naho'e, the consultant's home valley. The consultant mainly tells about Puti'o's carrying of the large stone from Moto'ua - a neighbouring valley - over the mountains to Naho'e (see link).
prep_feast
In this session the consultants talk about how the dancers were prepared for the feasts. They talk in particular how the body was treated with oils and kurkuma to make it soft and colour it. The talk also in general about different skin treatments (paku).
trick_lang-OM
In this session the consultant talks in two different trick language, one which originates from Nuku Hiva ('eo hu'i or uhi tua) and one from Hiva 'Oa (tepeteateu etc.). She gives examples in Marquesan and transfers them into the trick languages. At the end of the session we talk about trick languages in general, how the consultant learnt it etc.
