This is the sixth section of the recording. RDA first tells about old graves in the area, as well as how as a child she and her siblings came upon an old storage shed left by a Russian geological expedition with the samovar and dishes all still intact. From this she moves on to talking about old traditions that aren't upheld anymore.

This is the second section of the recording session - somewhat artificially cut off after about 4 minutes. In this - also very animated - narrative ZAS tells how she arrived in Tashkent as a young woman to visit an Uzbek penfriend of hers, and how her friend had missed her at the airport because of a delay with the airplane, so that ZAS had had to find her friend's home by herself, with a taxi driver who also didn't know the street.

This is the second section of the recording, in which RDA told about how a bear that wasn't hibernating had attacked her mother and older brother in their little hut in the reindeer herd. Fortunately, other reindeer herders had just moved to that location that day, and one of them was able to shoot the bear before it was able to wound anyone.

This is the first part of the recording session with Innokentij Burtsev. Before the recording IDB told NA and BP a little bit about his life and contempopary problems in reideer herding. He was all his life a reindeer herder and now he is a zootechnician (zootechnik) in Sebjan. Actually when he was telling about it in Russian, he was very excited and cheerful. When we started the recording, he became much more serious and told a lot about endangered Even customs and endangered status of Even.

At first, RDA tells about how she had taken a tape-recorder to the reindeer herd with her in the summer after she had finished school, and how she had recorded the old women and men in the herd telling her about how life used to be, about old traditions, old folklore, songs, etc. She had left these recordings in a box at home when she left for Yakutsk to go to university, only to find when she came back that her younger sister had overplayed this unique collection of folklore with music. From there she moves on to listing the people in Sebjan who know a lot about old traditions and local history and who could perhaps be asked to contribute their knowledge to the Dobes archive.

During this session Valentina Innokentjevna shows how to scrape the reindeer fur. First she cuts a hide with a knife and then begins to scrape it with a special instrument. She puts a little bit water to make the hide softer. After several minutes of scraping she explains, that she will make a fur-cap (malakhai) of it. NA asked her to name all instruments she had used (this scraper, handle and a board). Valentina Innokentjevna commented also all her actions in Even.

This is the fifith section of the recording, and it deals with two topics, but RDA went from one to the other without much transition where one could have cut the file. At first she narrates a little story about her grandparents and how a 'snow-man' (called Chuchunja in Sebjan-Kuel Even) had thrown stones at her grandfather, and then she continues by talking a bit about her family, the children of her grandparents.

Nikolaj Fomich Ichanga tells about his life, especially his childhood, when he grew up with an old childless couple and during which time he learnt how to drive dog sleds.
